Psalms 15:2-5 (NIV) states:
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous,
Who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue,
Who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,
Who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord,
Who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
Who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent,
He who does these things will never be shaken.
This Psalm teaches that if you are totally consumed with the Lord’s love nothing can deter you from your walk in the way. The reality is that when we allow slander, lies, and greed to enter our lives we take the focus from God and place it on our own lives.
The way to consume yourself is to take steps in your faith. Just as if you were climbing a mountain you take one step at a time. You will hit obstacles that will make you question your faith and maybe even the existence of God. However, once you get passed them you are that much closer to God.
The way to overcome these obstacles is through talking to other Christians or by researching the issue in your Bible. It is most important that you do not just wait for the obstacle to move it self, because it will not. Have you ever had a wall get out of your way?
