Now! |

The time to make a difference is NOW not tomorrow. We love to push everything off that could be positive in our life and save it for another day. Unless it is something that really excites us or is something that we feel is ‘do or die’ it can wait. Is there anything wrong with doing that? Most of the time we only see the results of procrastination as something that hurts us and only us. If we keep pushing off our fitness goals, our health will deteriorate. Not spending time with our families hurts the way they look at us. When we fail to get closer to God, we suffer eternally. Does this sound about right? In actuality, deteriorating health affects all those that love us. When they see us struggling to climb a flight of stairs it is upsetting. If we can’t play with our kids or grandkids because we are too fat does not leave the lasting moments that will be cherished for life. The worst is when others have to care for you because you let your health go. Ditching the family time can lead to much regret and heartache. Our spouses may feel neglected and look for affection from another or a substance. Others too will turn away from us in our times of need as a form of payback. Then there will be no one to care for us as our health fades. Shrugging off religion is the most dangerous one out of all! Without continually building a relationship with God we are going to miss out on all the love that He has to offer us here on earth. Feeling His love and sharing it with others is an unbelievable joy. Can you imagine leading another to Christ? What if that person led another or others? What an impact! How can we fix this? By living NOW. It is an acrostic for how to build a relationship with God that can carry over to all other relationships in our life. The ‘N’ is for ‘No other God.’ We are to love God with all of our heart. He wants to be the number one priority in our life. Jesus commanded us to love God with all that we are. The ‘O’ is for ‘Others.’ Jesus also commanded us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. By loving others in the way we want to be loved we are going to build a lasting and trusting relationship with them. The ‘W’ is for ‘Wisdom.’ God wants us to gain wisdom from His word and other Christians. Wisdom is not simply book smarts and it is not only street smarts. Wisdom is the combination of the two. Each day we need to read God’s word and then apply it. It is not until we apply the word of God that we will truly gain experience. This experience that we base on the first two commandments listed above is what gives us wisdom. Reading this is completely in vain unless you are willing to put these principles into action. We need to change our lives NOW! |
